Weekend 615.0 (Summer Olympics Disgrace)

(1) The Westminster Cathedral Newsletter (28 July 2024):

“Just as holidays are associated with particular times, places and people, so our relationship with God can be strengthened by visiting a holy shrine dedicated to one of his saints, most especially Our Blessed Lady. The prayers of the saints bring us closer to God, and if we call on the name of Mary she always answers with the name of Jesus!

You don’t have to go far to find these centres of spiritual renewal. Every diocese has its own Marian shrine, ours is that of Our Lady of Willesden in Harlesden. You could even take a trip to the national shrine at Walsingham.”
