“…for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.” ― George Eliot
It’s a Pink Floyd morning musically wise. The weather is absolutely beautiful and I’m watching LYCRA® clad cyclists attack city streets like the Avenue des Champs-Élysées from the comfort of my desk. I also just watched a fox run past the window like he was in the home stretch at Belmont. Holy smokes! I’ll leave content here for now as a placeholder.

I’ve been listening to Amtrak Blues and was inspired by her extraordinary life.

“With the secular culture darkened by a hostility to truth, and the Church perhaps in her leadership demonstrating little moral courage, souls of God may have one of two options. In rare cases, they can choose some form of separation from society and a life of greater solitude and prayerful silence. The other possibility is to remain in the world, but while living in the world to embrace a commitment to prayer that would seem inappropriate and excessive in more ordinary times…The contemplative souls in a last era of the Church will be servants of a holy preservation of the faith in a manner like the monastic scribes in the monasteries of the Dark Ages.”
