I’m listening to soundtracks from Curly Sue (1991) and Groundhog Day (1993). George Fenton composed the original score for Groundhog Day and “You Like Boats but Not the Ocean” (among others). He also composed Shadowlands (1993).
The orchestral score on Curly Sue by Georges Delerue is so soft (IY). Just listen to “Every Girl Needs a Mom” and you’ll understand how the word soft is used in this context.
